Ennis --> Twin Bridges (7/10/10)

Leaving bright and early we got some coffee at the shop across the street from the hotel and started on.  We were expecting to have a tough day because the hill out of Ennis was a major climb.  Getting to the base of the hill I knew I was in for a long morning, I started out climbing a nice 5% grade that quickly turned into a 7% grade for the remainder.  I plodded up the hill listening to music, enjoying the morning coolness and nice scenery.  Getting to what I thought was the top I changed shirts to keep from freezing on the downhill, but it was a false summit, there was still more climbing to do.
Finally getting to the summit I met with all the other guys and we headed down the hill.  With my wheel not stable I took it slow, trying not to go over 30mph.  Which was a challenge :-)  After getting down the hill we stopped in Virginia City for breakfast.  The cafe was very nice, they had only 3 items on the menu and coffee, I like simple choices.  While we were eating we had a little run-in with the law, apparently there was a complaint that several cyclists were riding side-by-side holding up traffic.  The police officer was a complete ass, and essentially gave us a warning.  We decided that we didn't like the county we were in and wanted to head on as quickly as possible.  Cruising on we finally got to Twin Bridges where we got to stay in one of the nicest biker camps yet, OK so this county wasn't all bad.
Getting set up and cleaned up we then headed to dinner, then back to camp and on to bed.  World Cup final is on tomorrow so it will be a short day to Dillon :-)
