After an uneventful evening with the crazy lady sleeping in the area, we headed off to Flagg Ranch RV park. We chose to stay there because it was about 2 miles from the entrance to Yellowstone. Heading out of the Tetons we ran into most of the ACA group and several other cyclists who were also heading west, most were planning to stay an extra day in the Tetons to enjoy the park.
Heading down the highway we ran into several small sections of road construction, which is apparently a constant thing in the area, which makes cycling difficult. In one area we came to an all gravel patch about 2 miles long, where people thought that it was a fine idea to pass us on gravel with not shoulder or space (the center line was orange cones). People on vacation are really not that smart, what we figured out is that they are more stressed than if they were at home. After several close calls we stopped at the grocery to get lunch and food for dinner.
After a nice lunch break we headed on to Flagg Ranch. We rode along the Jackson Lake, which is very very large. We arrived at Flagg Ranch and were treated to a full park with only a few tent spots available. Taking one spot we started to set up camp, getting tents pitched and food ready to be locked in the bear boxes. After getting everything set up it was shower and food time. At dinner we discussed the plan for the morning, not wanting a repeat of the traffic issues we had today we decided to get up at 0440 and be on the road by 0600. So it was an early night which was fine because the mossies were very hungry and thick.
