Moran Junction --> Jenny Lake (7/6/10)

Waking and getting on the road fairly early we were excited to hit the road, the Tetons are calling!  The morning was kind of cold so we bundled up and headed towards some of the most beautiful scenery we have seen yet.

Riding towards the park we were treated to some fantastic views of the mountains, which were far more impressive than these pictures can show.  We headed off route to go to a small town called Moose, so we could loop back to the route then next day through the National Park.  Riding to Moose Nick got another puncture, which he repaired while Robin and I took the opportunity to shoot "fun" photos.

After the short delay with the puncture, we headed down to Moose where we stopped in and got lunch.  The food was priced as one would expect in a resort town, but it was actually really good.  Plus we had a fantastic view from the bar where we were sitting.

After leaving Moose we headed into the park, which had recently installed a bike path and were not charging bicyclist to enter the park, score!  So we rode in and headed to Jenny Lake, where there is a specific Hiker/Biker camp area.  We got all set up at the site and headed out to tour around the lake a little bit.

After a couple mile walk around the lake we headed back and got dinner going.  While we were preparing our food the park ranger came to the site...we were all thinking we were in some deep poop!  Turns out that the ranger was a guy I graduated high school with, and had not seen since graduation.  That was a big shocker, I travelled 3000 miles on a bike into Wyoming and met one of the other 72 students that I graduated with, I really wonder what the probability of that is...
he stopped by because they found a older woman camped out next to a bear trap and they had no place to put her because the park was full and they needed to put her in the hiker/biker area and he wanted to give us a heads up.   Crazy...

We ate and met with several other cyclists and a hiker had a nice camp fire and then headed to bed.
